The Telangana government has approved an outlay of ₹15,000 crore for infrastructure development in Hyderabad, signalling an accelerated push to upgrade urban mobility and civic capacity in one of India’s fastest growing cities.
The investment will be directed towards a network of flyovers, elevated corridors and road widening projects aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity across key stretches of the city. The programme builds on earlier phases of the Strategic Road Development Plan, which has already reshaped several arterial routes.
Officials said the new round of spending will also support the proposed “Future City” initiative and development along the Musi river corridor, both of which are intended to accommodate long term urban expansion and attract investment.
With Hyderabad continuing to draw technology and services firms, the government is positioning infrastructure as a critical lever to sustain growth and improve liveability. Better connectivity and reduced travel time are expected to support business activity while addressing the strain placed on existing urban systems.
The scale of the allocation reflects a broader trend among states to front load infrastructure spending in major cities, as competition intensifies to attract investment and talent.
