The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, approved a robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) park called PRAGATI Park. It is expected to create over 1 lakh jobs and add ₹2,000 crore annually to the state’s economy.
On Tuesday, the government approved the project in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on 69.52 acres of land to promote robotics manufacturing, develop AI technology, attract investment, support startups and create jobs for young people.
The park will be developed in two zones. One will cover 8 acres under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, while the other will cover 61.52 acres and be developed by private companies. It will provide facilities for testing robots, developing AI technology and training workers.
The key features of PRAGATI Park are as follows: the total area is 69.52 acres in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. More than 1 lakh direct and indirect jobs are expected to be created, along with an annual contribution of ₹2,000 crore to Uttar Pradesh’s economy when the park is fully operational. An 8-acre zone will operate under a public-private partnership model, while a 61.52-acre zone will be developed by private companies.
The Greater Noida Authority will invest ₹21.1 crore as equity, while the state government will provide an interest-free loan of ₹126.2 crore for 30 years for the first zone. The advanced facilities will include robotics testing centres, certification centres, AI computing infrastructure, data laboratories and rapid prototyping facilities. Startups will also receive support through affordable access to advanced testing equipment, AI computing and product development facilities. The facilities will help companies test products against international standards and obtain CE and UL certifications.
Training opportunities will be provided for young people and technical workers in AI, robotics and advanced manufacturing. A target timeline has also been set: commercial operations in the first zone are expected to begin within 36 months of the registration of the special purpose vehicle (SPV). This period may be extended to 48 months. The park’s main objective is to strengthen Indian technology and manufacturing, reduce dependence on imports and help Indian companies compete in global markets.
