BRICS Summit 2026: Bharat Mandapam and Delhi Preparations

The 18th BRICS Summit will take place in the capital, New Delhi, on September 12 and 13, 2026. India is hosting the summit as part of its BRICS chairship. This year’s BRICS theme is “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.” The summit will bring many world leaders to Delhi, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, and others.

For this year’s BRICS Summit, the stage has been set at Bharat Mandapam, which will serve as the main hosting venue. Moreover, security around the venue has also been increased, with the Delhi Police and other authorities making special security arrangements.

Gradually, Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi is becoming an important destination for large business events, exhibitions, conferences, and international gatherings. Located at Pragati Maidan and operated by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), the convention and exhibition centre is designed to support major trade events and bring businesses, investors, government representatives, and international visitors together. Its 2026 event calendar reflects this growing role, with events covering industries ranging from industrial products and mobility to parking, road infrastructure, technology, and international trade.

For this event, the capital Delhi will get an overhauled look as the city is being decorated ahead of the summit. Many areas of Delhi have received new lights, flowers, fresh landscaping, BRICS-themed signs, and LED displays. Areas such as Patel Chowk, Windsor Place, Mandi House, and Teen Murti have also received decorative lighting.

BRICS logos and posters have also been placed along important roads and pavements. The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has stepped up beautification and gardening work, with special attention given to roads connecting Delhi Airport, hotels, and Bharat Mandapam.
