Karnataka has approved investment proposals worth ₹29,679.20 crore, with the projects expected to create around 66,360 jobs across the state. The approvals were given at the 68th State High-Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC) meeting chaired by Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.
The committee approved 17 proposals, including 9 new projects and 8 additional investment proposals. The investments cover several sectors, including renewable energy, aerospace, electronics manufacturing, automobiles, bioenergy and office infrastructure.
Among the major projects, Hero Future Energies plans to invest ₹9,760 crore, while Nirani Sugars will invest ₹4,062 crore and TruAlt Bioenergy ₹2,988 crore. Mahindra Aerostructures has proposed an investment of ₹2,300 crore in an aerospace manufacturing facility in Kolar, while Vibrancy Renewable Energies plans to invest ₹2,194.94 crore.
Other new investment proposals include Epsilon, with ₹1,500 crore; Toyota Kirloskar, with ₹1,200 crore; Aequs Consumer Products, with ₹1,104 crore; and Lighthouse Alternative Assets, with ₹600 crore. Aequs plans to expand electronics component and assembly manufacturing in Dharwad.
The committee also approved additional investments from several companies. These include MSPL, with ₹884.25 crore; Bhima Fine Chemicals, with ₹605 crore; Sansera, with ₹492.24 crore; Honda Cars, with ₹437 crore; Ensure Reliance Power Solutions, with ₹250 crore; and Havells India, with ₹250 crore. TVS Motors will make an additional investment of ₹1,050 crore.
The approved projects are spread across different parts of Karnataka, which means the impact may not be limited to Bengaluru. Manufacturing and energy projects can increase demand for industrial land, roads, warehouses, power supply, water, logistics and other supporting infrastructure.
For ordinary people, the biggest potential benefit is employment. The projects are expected to create 66,360 jobs, while new industrial activity can also support indirect employment in transport, construction, maintenance, food services, housing and other local businesses.
The investment push also has an important impact on Karnataka’s industrial infrastructure. Projects in aerospace and electronics can strengthen the state’s manufacturing base, while renewable energy and bioenergy investments can support its growing clean-energy ecosystem.
A clear trend is emerging across Karnataka: industrial development is becoming more diversified. Alongside Bengaluru’s traditional strength in technology and services, the state is attracting investment in aerospace, electronics, renewable energy, automobiles and energy-related industries. This could spread economic activity to more cities and districts instead of keeping growth concentrated in Bengaluru.
The state government has also called for tighter checks before industrial licences are issued. Chief Minister D K Shivakumar directed officials to examine project reports carefully and make pre-clearance audits mandatory. He also asked officials to ensure that projects follow the state’s industrial policy.
In the longer term, successful execution of these projects could increase demand for industrial parks, commercial property, logistics facilities, worker housing and transport infrastructure. It could also attract more companies looking to set up manufacturing and technology operations in Karnataka.
